tax credit overpayments scam

Could anyone plz help I have recently had to lower my hours at work to care for my disabled hubby I phoned the tax credit office to inform them of this however they carried on paying me at a reduced amount this amount was then knocked off my I/S which the dwp showed up on calculation of benefit. now the working tax are saying ive been overpayed, as this amount has been knocked off my I/S benefit I feel they have therefore underpaid me so they should clear this overpayment of working tax,can anyone help or advise,regards brianjo
