Working tax Credits, self employment and temp working

I have been temping for the last year and a half and paying tax through my agency.
I have just qualified as a massage therapist and wish to start working as a therapist and also teaching dance cash in hand at the moment.
A job i got through the agency have allowed me to invoice them directly now to by pass the agency (which is fine by the agency). I work at this job 11 hours a week. I also do the odd jobs for my agency where I do pay tax but this is about 18 hours every now and again.
I want to become self employed but means if I work for my agency again (which often need to when building up a business) my tax will just get too confusing.
I have looked into working tax credits but not sure i can get them if i am working over the amount of hours at my agency even also NEA (New Enterprice allowance) which i can only get if i claim JSA (I can get NEA from the first day of my claim- so wont have to be on it forever) to help me whilst I build a business.
Just want to keep things simple.
My mum suggested I put it out here as she has found this helpful.
I guess I am just concerned that becoming self employed once I do the odd agency job this will get me into trouble and sometimes I really need that extra money...any advice on any of these would be soooooo helpful!!!!!!!!
