01YPAG3QDRL.jpgI have just found an Integral 1GB High Speed COURIER Pen Drive - USB Memory (HERE at Amazon) for Price: £2.73 The only drawback is that the delivery is Xtra unless you buy £15's worth of goods. Although it may be worth buying 5.4945054 of them and keeping some for a Christmas or Birthday present.

Delivery is £5.49 EACH however many you buy. They are sold by Memory X via Amazon.

The "BUY" link has now disappeared from the Play.com website - have they been overwhelmed with orders?? It would usually say 'out of stock' or something.

    He's right. They pulled it.
So if you type MAXWELL USB in the search box, our pen does not appear.
However, there is another 1GB there for £4.99, and I just bought it.
Who needs a 64Mb pen anyway? Self-defence perhaps?
Anyway, it is just as good value and in stock.

The good thing about Play.com is that the item comes through the normal post without you having to be in to receive the delivery.

  • If you are worried about the quality of the Maxell from some comments above an alternative which has received excellent reviews is the Sandisk Cruzer Crossfire 1GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive.
This is available at £3.45 through an Amazon associated company but with £4.99 postage and packing costs it comes in at £8.44 total.
I bought one recently and its proving a good buy.

This Pen Drive is available from Memory Megastore for £3.75 with £3.95 Postage, making a total of £7.7O. Delivery is a little slow as it comes from the Channel Isles! Check it out at the following link: -

Does this one have the same performance as the previous one, which has been withdrawn ? Not bothered about the 64Mb stick.

These days don't buy a USB memory stick just because they are cheap. Ensure the stick you buy uses USB 2.0 for increased speed.

Also, I would recommend buying a recognised brand (eg. SanDisk, Kingston). You are entrusting your data to these memory sticks - you do not want to lose it.

Finally, don't delete the data from the source PC until you know you have safely transferred it to the destination PC.

Amazon currently have a SanDisk 1GB Cruzer Micro for £6.53. This one qualifies for free delivery over £15.
