POPLA appeal problem

I'm having problems with my POPLA appeal. I called them earlier and the attitude and rudeness from the woman I spoke to was astounding!

I received a Parking Eye fine for overstaying at the infamous Chelmsford Retail Park. My appeal was refused and a POPLA code issued. The code would not work on POPLAs website but I was still able to submit my appeal. I emailed POPLA to explain the situation and sent them copies of my evidence. I never received any response.

I have now received a letter from POPLA to tell me that the operator that issued my fine is no longer a member of the BPA, so they cannot judge my appeal. It turns out that they have taken a few digits from the PCN number of my claim and used it as my verification code. Totally wrong and attributes my case to another parking operator. They clearly did not read any of the details of my claim, nor read my email as they would have realised the details they had were incorrect.

I have now also received a letter from Parking Eye to say that I have not appealed to POPLA in time and they will be taking further action against me. I have gone onto POPLAs site and resubmitted my appeal with the correct verification code (which funnily enough now works!). I explained what has happened. I've also emailed them but do they read emails?

I'm now at a loss as to what to do. I thought calling POPLA to explain would help but the woman had the worst attitude and acted as though I was a complete idiot for thinking she could help.

Does anybody have any advice for what I shold do next? I'm worried that I will be told my appeal is too late and that they won't take into account my initial appeal. It's odd that the verification code would not work at all. I checked it over several days before submitting it minus a verification code. Now the appeal date has passed it suddently works.

I would suggest you pull copies of all correspondence together and send it with a covering letter of complaint for the attention of the lead POPLA adjudicator Henry Michael Greenslade and copy in Steve Clarke of the BPA Ltd.

Also make sure you get free certificates of posting from the post office for anything you send by post.
