    Xmas Saver!
Mildred I bloody well love you!

That's the very one, thank you so so much :kisses3:

    You're very welcome :):)
  • I have in my fridges and/or on my counter tops
    10lb of plums
    16 large oranges
    Strawberries
    Raspberries
    Lemons
    Limes
    Rhubarb
    Bramley apples
    Blackberries in the freezer
I don't have any wine making equipment. Really the only jam I'd make that would be eaten so don't really want to make more, same with chutney.
I have plenty of lemons and limes sliced in the freezer so would rather do something a bit different with them
Freezers are looking very, very full so may be quite tricky to get more in.
Any other ideas? Please and ta!

    Plums -
Pumbrillo (like membrillo, you get in Spain, though that's made with quinces) http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7728/plumbrillo great with cheese
Pickled Plums, recipe in 'Put Em Up! Fruit', http://www.storey.com/book_detail.php?isbn=9781612120249&cat=Food, let me know if you want me to scan and post
Five-Spice Plum Sauce, used in Chinese cooking eg Peking Duck, recipe in 'Put Em Up! Fruit', again let me know if you want me to scan and post

    Strawberries -
Strawberry Balsamic Glaze, recipe in 'Put Em Up! Fruit'

    Rhubarb -
    Rhubarb Ginger Cordial
, 2lb chopped rhubarb, 1/2 cup water, 2 cups vodka:), 1 cup sugar, fresh ginger ... boil rhubarb and water together for 10mins or so, add sugar and vodka, put in large sterilised container for a week or so (shake daily), strain out the solids, and bottle
Roasted Rhubarb, toss chopped rhubarb in sugar, roast in oven (375F) for 30 mins until fruit is tender, make a sugar syrup, put rhubarb in jars and cover with syrup

    Raspberries -
    Raspberry Gin
, sprinkle raspberries with sugar, put in large kilner-type jar and cover with gin, turn every now and then, ready in 10 weeks
Pink Lemonade, similar to lemon cordial, recipe in 'How to Make Your Own Drinks' https://www.octopusbooks.co.uk/books/detail.page?isbn=9781845338411 (which also has lots of other ideas for making the most of a fruit glut)

Good find msgoggins. :) Fantastic you managed to find one too. :T

Hope you don't mind me saying but I don't think the peeling of stickers should be encouraged though.

Tis true. I'd hoped that it was worded carefully enough for peeps to make their own call...

Thank you JB :D I don't know what the first one is so I'll pass on that one :o but the pickled plums sound lovely. If you could do the do on that one please I'd be very grateful, but please don't go out of your way to do it, there's no immediate rush :)

Thanks to to everyone else who made suggestions, they're duly noted

  • Cow Under the Bridge one person lies across the gap between two armchairs pulled slightly apart, face down and eyes such - they're the 'bridge'; the other person is the 'cow', and they have to try and crawl under the 'bridge' without it dropping on them.

    hint, hint, Mrs S
