My mum helps me out on big purchase, we just agree a weekly amount and I set up a standing order. She was quite shocked (pleasently suprised) when I had saved enough for my new sofa the other week. Was simply due to my ankle problems I had not really been out of the house much all summer. Well weather has been so good it has been a great money saver.
Asking your mum was the right thing to do as can't have Poppys dog food going off in this heat:)
Sure your mum loves you and appreciates everything you do for her she just doesn't know how to show it.

I wouldn't ask mum if she couldn't afford it.
I never buy things on credit I would panic in case I couldn't pay an instalment.
I never buy from catalogues , stores , online etc unless I know I can afford to buy.
I panic where money in concerned.
Tomorrow payday I will add all my outgoings for monthly bills from amount in bank then I know what is left for food shopping and my clothes treat from Sainsbury's next Tuesday when their 25% TU sale starts :T0
