Hehehe, I know:o
It's one I invented when I was pregnant with little man...jacket potato was one of the few things that I could eat... But you can't eat lots of tuna whilst pregnant...so I had carrot with a side order of beetroot:rotfl: weird:)0 -
A won't care if you use an apg in T unless you foolishly spend way more than the value of the apg in cash whilst in there. Cash you could have spent in A
For everyone that walks in, pays for something with an apg and walks out it will hurt Ts profits (not much but its a definite loss). I don't think As will mind that
Can you imagine if A started accepting CC vouchers in response!?!
It's like loss leaders though - where supermarkets are hoping that customers will buy (and they usually do) other items whilst they are there and, thus, overall the purchases be profitable for the store. For people generally, who happen to have checked the APG, or maybe got a (very small) BM spat out of the till from Sains., it means they may spend it next time in T. Think of it this way - most people use the store that is most convenient to them, if they have a 12p BM but next time just happen to be popping near Mr T, they might do their weekly shop in there, and use the 12p BM - and will certainly be buying a lot lot more than 12p!! T gets that weekly shop, because they accepted the Sainsbobs coupon, that otherwise would have been likely to get the person shopping again at S (for their next weekly shop). We are talking average, regular shoppers not the Elite.
I would have mentioned this weeks ago but never got round to it. It's like the £5 off fruit & veg. in Morries. We just bought £5 of fruit & veg. Most regular shoppers did not - I was in M and saw a couple - I thought at first they were buying fruit and veg. on their weekly shop but :eek:not using a £5 voucher - but then I saw they did use a voucher on the fruit & veg. But they sure bought a whole load lot more on that shopping - they were I suspect doing their weekly shop and, because of the £5, were doing it in M rather than another store that they might otherwise have gone to. It gets customers through the doors of Mr M, and most people do buy all the rest of their shopping there and do not behave like we on the Elite do. I suspect that, overall, the £5 off was profitable for Morries even despite it paying for several of our shops for each of us.
On this occasion, T have obviously targetted certain areas for a reason - maybe areas where they are losing even greater market share than elsewhere in the country or face greater competition in those local markets.0 -

Just me then:(
 were you in sada on Monday evening buying sanex?0 -
Wasn't the fruit and veg one supposed to be fresh only? (Ignoring the reality that it worked on everything in the store with the right SA!).
Early night for me tonight, up early to get my papers and then prep for my interview. Scary!!
Dont know but nly bought fresh, but meat and fish is meat and fish if frozen or fresh but i never mentioned frozen anyway just prawns:p:o

troutabout wrote: »Hello all this is a wonderful thread and I just wanted everyone who was contemplating potentially usung an APG in SADA and T concurrently to think carefully about the potential consequences before doing so.
This is still the same voucher but used in two shops. I think that the APG was supposed to be used once either in SADA or Mr T. Honestly I would swerve using it twice. Its not worth getting a criminal record for and potentially SADA could pull the plug on the way APG currently operates. All Im saying is be careful don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Look, Tesco are just trying to poach Asda customers with this offer. Their t&C's say nothing at all about previous or future usage and the coupons are useless to Tesco. They certainly can't go and ask Asda for a refund of their value ! The coupons are as much use or value as a bus ticket so far as Tesco are concerned. They also cannot ask Asda about usage in Asda - if they did Asda would probably repond with 5 consonnts and 2 vowels !
There is no risk at all in using them in Asda and Tesco and no way that this could be called fraud or result in any police input. Use carefully and sensibly without taking the michael and stop worrying unnecessarily. I don't recall anyone getting too worried a while back when Morrisons (rather foolishly) decided to accept Tesco club card vouchers without specifying any restrictions on previous usage - I am happy to admit that I most certainly cashed in my vouchers online before I trotted off to Morrisons and I am quite certain that MANY other people did the same. There was nothing fraudulent or criminal about it - we just played the system and took advantage of the sheer stupidity of the desperate stores PR.ELITE 5:2

 Only you SSM! :rotfl:
Is it somewhere you work regularly? You can be prepared next time if it is.
The till roll at the checkout I used yesterday ran out just before the barcode was printed :eek: I couldn't believe it! I stood there whilst the lad replaced it and it printed the rest of my receipt. Ive stapled it on very neatly but I just know I'm going to have a mare redeeming it0 -

Normally I'd agree with you, but in this case Tesco cannot claim any money back from anyone. An apg is only "legal tender" in Asda, and the rules pertaining to copying, reuse etc are only applicable for use in Asda.
As far as Tesco is concerned you might as well be paying with Monopoly money because the vouchers are worthless to them (and therefore it's not relevant whether you've used them before). It's a marketing ploy to subvert Asda shoppers over to Tesco and there will be a budget for the losses occurring during this period.
Personally I can only see this backfiring as soon as the asda shoppers see the prices in T!:rotfl:
To be really honest I doubt anyone will be taking Tesco up on this offer. The ASDA shopper has to visit a Tesco store to notice this offer and if you shop at asda would you be shopping at Tesco? The people on this forum may do but i doubt anyone else would really.
While I dropped my daughter's off at the cinema tonight. I used my Monopoly money again, This time I was asked for the receipt but was giving them backThe girl had noticed that it says you needed the receipt,
The girl on the checkout didn't even understand how to check, looked at the pile I had and gave them back.0 -
