Went on holiday (Tenerife), forgot to pack trunks, so first day went to local mini-mart and bought some, the shorts type with string-bag lining. Next day, went back to same shop to get some food, dressed in just a t-shirt and the trunks (no underwear), on the way out the female SA stopped me and asked (in Spanish) could she look in my shorts? I asked why (in Spanish) - should've just said 'Of course, be my guest!' - and said she was looking for a label ... she meant the price ticket, which they'd not removed when I bought them. She asked when I'd bought them, I told her yesterday, but I could see she didn't believe me and thought I'd shoplifted them but she was too polite to come out with it. So eventually I said 'Don't you think that if I'd walked from my apartment in just a t-shirt and nothing else - no shorts, no trousers, no nothing - come into the shop, got a pair of trunks and put them on, and then tried to walk out of the shop wearing them, someone would have noticed before now?'. Eventually I spotted the SA who had served me the day before, who could vouch for me.
And before you ask, PD, no I didn't get her number:rotfl:

I've got a week off coming up and I really want to go back to Crete for a few days but I'd be going on my own. I've got not worries about my safety but it's the whole going away on my own thing
Too FREAKIN right I would!!!
..........if I got the chanceand that's never going to happen!
Go for it! You never know when you'll want to and not be able to. There's absolutely nothing wrong with travelling alone these days. You have acquaintances there, don't you? And just think....you can do what you want, when you want. No worrying about anyone else.0 -
Sorry, bumping my own post. Tia
Sorry, no idea, but there must be a website out there that lists guest houses that are dog friendly, or perhaps a caravan park, may be cheaper paying for the week, than a hotel for a few days.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
