That's a guideline, not a given. Yes, it's probably stuck to most of the time but if you get a judge that's peed off at people wasting court time over speeding fines......you might get unlucky.

I think I said before, I got caught speeding by probably the only police force in the country that didn't offer speed awareness courses at the time :o Don't know if they do now?

they dont offer it?! thats crappy!

i have along with a few friends got away with 10+2 but a buddy that rides a bike was doing 33 (2mph less than me) got stuck with a 400 fine and 4 points i get the feeling they dont like bikers.......

Well I have to admit in my 27  years of driving, there's not been a lot of that time that I've not had points on my licence :o usually 3 but I have had 6 sometimes. Hazard of travelling around a lot. I do think there's little point in arguing it, I've never disputed I was speeding any one of those times. It's only fair if I get caught, I pay up.
I will just say none of that was excessive speeding :o

gotta be careful in my truck. my work is strict on the speeding and points on license ive got 0 and hopefully wont get more than 0 lol
  • This talk of points on driving licenses has brought to the fore my fear of traffic lights! :o I got 3 points for going through a red light in Glasgow once. I'd had my license about a year and had only just started driving in the city. To this day I still hate approaching traffic lights that are green in case they go and change on me :rotfl:

Most of my points were accumulated on the M6, usually by those mobile bridge cameras that you don't see until it's too late.....and mostly by Cumbria police :o

happened to me once just so happened that there was an invisible emergency vehicle trying to get through the traffic so I had to let it through as per the law/highway code.

That's the only time I've had points, touch wood, in 10 years of driving. Will need to be careful when I venture down the A9 once they switch on those blinkin' average speed cameras.

Not that I'm in the habit of speeding right enough, but anyone who's driven that road will know how  it is!
