Will anything stop weeds growing through block paving?

Just spent best part of the day scraping between my block paving to get rid of weeds and it now looks really tidy.
I know it's just a matter of time before the weeds attack again so I'd like to ask if anyone can recommend a way or even a product that would permanently keep them from returning?
Do the commercially available products really work?
Thanks as usual

The gap filled by sand will always eventually grow weeds.
I just use a strong weed killer and patience.
I wait until the weeds have died and then wait until they have gone.0 -
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Just wondering if sea water would do instead of making up a salt solution. Plenty of that around here.0

Weeds will always grow. Even if the underneath has been properly weed-proofed, seeds will blow / be dropped by bird-poo into the sand and take root. A decent weedkiller can help, or else just removing by hand every few months.
The only permanent solution is to seal over the top of the paving. There are products available for this, but I've no idea how effective they are. Personally I just give mine a good blasting with a power washer once a year then re-sand.0 -
I use a weed burner, not the complete answer but keeps it looking tidy.0

This is from yesterday

I've looked at the reviews of various products and it seems worth a go. I've been to B&Q and bought their Sika product. If it doesn't rain at the weekend, that's what I'll be doing!0 -
I found out by error - when it snowed last year I spread salt over part of our block driveway and that part of the drive was still clear of weeds 18 months later! Cheap too - I used road salt from Costco.0

weeds dont grow from underneath. only from between cracks.
If the driveway is not fitted right then there's no real way of stopping weeds. THis will also happen over time where a driveway becomes neglected.
The trick is to make sure the drive has "traffic" so if there's an option to park cars differently thatll help
A properly fitted well used driveway shouldnt have any weeds. As someone already said a good power wash and re sand (kiln dried) once / twice a year is good practice.
Other than that its just doing what others have said and making best of an unavoidable situation. Sealing the drive is a possiblility and there's a good section here:

the site has lots of good info.0 -
I am looking into thi as our drive has not been done for a few years and needs a major job.
There are products that will kill of the aggi etc from the stone.
Plan is to give one dose, maybe 2
Scrape the joints
Power wash
Seal paving.
then look at the options to resand the joints.
saw this weed suppresing sand in B&Q but £10 a bag.

Salt seems a cheaper option.0
