Fitting new taps - but flexible hoses/connector is too short! Help!

Hi
I am replacing an old monoblock type of mixer type with a new one.
However after connecting all the bits & pieces I note that the new flexible connecting pipes/hoses are 5cm short - they are the standard 30cm!!!
I cant use the existing flexible hose as they have a smaller connector/thread so I need new ones.
But I cant find 35cm anywhere!
Is there a way of buying something that will bridge the 5cm gap?
I thought I had done the hard part and removed the old one & connected the new tap together!! CURSES!!!
Heres a photo of my predicament!

At the risk of sounding obvious... Cut the copper and add 5cm of new pipe and a compression coupler?

you don't even need to cut the pipe, comp coupler where the other fitting is add a bit of copper & that fitting back on the flexi's job doneI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
add a service valve0

I'm a complete novice. Only attempted this job due to total lack of finances to get in a plumber. Dont understand any of the terminology etc.
I wouldnt dream of cutting copper/welding etc etc
So with this Service Valve, its just a matter of screwing in at both ends?? Whats the cheapest option? That or a Coupler?0 -
cutting copper is easy, just need a pipe cutter or even easier use plastic.
you can use push fit connectors no need to solder, or even use a spanner.

(you dont need to buy a pack of ten your local DIYshed will do singles)
there literally just push fit, they'll work with copper or plastic.

Which simply means, use the suggested valve, just screws in , tools required a couple of spanners, no cutting , no mess. no worries.
Personally would not even bother with clamps, hozes are just going to hang there.
Easy cheap fix , which answers and solves your minor problem0 -
Went to a couple of places to pick up suggested items. Showed the various plumbing shops the above image - they all suggested different fixes which I found confusing, usually involving buying various parts & pipe.
The flex hose only comes in 300mm so that was a pain when I thought I would just get a bigger length.
In the end, I just pushed the pipes up a bit, secured them to the wall & job done.0 -
Get a longer hose say 600mm and put a loop in it. Once that bottom copper union is removed you will be very lucky to install a service valve without the whole lot being left in tension.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
