Cost of removing old loft insulation with a paper backing

A British Gas inspector called to check out if our house qualifies for free loft insulation.
Unfortunately he found the existing insulation is fibreglass with a paper backing. As it is a potential fire risk he said it will need to be completely removed before they can proceed with installing the new.
What might be the going rate for an odd job man to remove and dispose of this material ? We live in an average size house with a footprint of 8m x 7m. The depth of insulation is varying and undulating but the average would be about 10cm.
Will it be worth paying to have this removed in order to be able to get free new stuff installed ?
