ATOL Protection - Need Advice

Hi, I am new to this forum and need some advice on a very specific question. I am planning a trip next year to New York and Vegas and have found some good prices on ebookers.com. For some reason they are not excepting debit card payments for a flight and hotel package so I have decided to book flights and hotels separately, however despite the information I have been reading with regards to ATOL protection I am not 100% sure if I will be protected.

This is how I plan to book.

Booking 1:
All flights as a 'multi centre' booking ie New York to London, New York to Vegas and then Vegas to London - 3 flights in total.

Booking 2:
New York Hotel

Booking 3:
Vegas Hotel

I have read that providing you book all components of the trip on the same day and via the same website I will be ATOL protected - is this true? I have spoke to ebookers.com on the phone and they say I won't be?? So I would really appreciate if someone can give me accurate information.
Thanks

If you book flights and accommodation at the same time, which appears to be what you are planning, you are buying a "Flight Plus" arrangement, This guarantees financial protection through the ATOL scheme but may not be a package holiday which gives you rights against an operator if something goes wrong with the holiday. If ebookers are saying you are not protected, then there is something wrong and they may be trying to avoid protection where it ought to exist. If that is the case, use a different agent
