I live in leeds and work in Harrogate, I travel to work using the train (and since Leeds is West Yorkshire and Harrogate is North Yorkshire it costs me a arm and a leg in season tickets)
On the train today I saw a discarded "carnet" ticket and from what I could tell it was some sort of pay in advance discount ticket type thing (unless im totaly mistaken) but after 30 mins of google searchs and looking at http://www.northernrail.org/ (all northen are good for is runing trains that are 30 years old 30 mins late....) could not find anything about these tickets
Anyone here know what they are about?

The only carnet that I know of is the London transport Zone 1 Carnet tickets...Are these what you found???The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. :rolleyes:0

ment to update this, was at the travel office geting times +prices for a trip to my grandfathers (my local station is unstaffed) and asked the lady about carnet tickets to.
they are a pack of 10 pre-paid tickets valid on selected stations on the leeds-harrogate-york line (not sure on restrictions or what stations) but 10 tickets from headingly to harrogate (or reverse) is £25 something, and since a weekly season ticket is £25.40 ( i think! need to check the recipts) it could work for me since I have different days off during the week so a pack of 10 carnet tickets will last me 5 days, but those 5 days may cover more than a 7 day period that the season ticket covers, so unless im working 6 or 7 days in a row carnet tickets should save me a few pence
hope that made sense, its late and its been a long day!0
