Fast wi-fi speed anywhere ?

Hi all, how do I get really fast internet wi-fi speed, wherever I go in the UK and wherever I go on mainland Spain please? It's only for when I want to use my laptop (Dell 6440, if it helps), to upload websites and collect many 100's of emails every hour. Also, I do have a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone, which is supposed to be capable of setting up a wi-fi hotspot with. Any help really appreciated.

Chris.

In the UK to use the personal hotspot feature on your phone, you will need a mobile contract that allows tethering. No one is offering unlimited tethering anymore, EE and Three both allow tethering for a certain amount of data, maybe giffgaff too. Not sure about o2 and voda.

You will not be able to tether abroad using your UK mobile SIM, the providers block tethering when abroad or charge obscene amounts of money for it.

So for spain you will need a spanish sim card that also allows tethering.

Also this solution may not be fast and have coverage black spots, it will depend on the mobile network.

Thanks for that, it's just that where I work in the open, about 12 acres, the wi-fi is non-existent, and when I go to Spain every few months, I'm fedup with keep trying to find somewhere that has wi-fi! Perhaps I should forget it?

You could always use an outdoor Wifi antenna on your router which will give you a few hundred metres range. Solwise are a good place to look for specialist Wifi gear like this.

A cheaper option maybe to get a pay-as-you-go dongle
