Importing a PCV file into Thunderbird

I am trying to import a backed up file (PCV) into Thunderbird - using ImportExportTools - but can't get an option to import anything other than EML files !!
mbox files or messages from a directory (the back up is not a directory - it is a large file)
I have done it before but for the life of me - can't figure out what I am doing wrong - any help welcome....

I think pcv files are created by mozbackup4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy

They are - yes and I have, in the past - imported these files back in using an alternative utilty called importrexporttools - which allows you to import folders rather than the whole lot - also when you import using mozbackup - it overwrites everything that you have got....0 -
I don't think importexporttools has ever supported pcv files.
You need to create a new profile in tb and using mozbackup to restore them then use impexptools to backup and then then restore them in the original profile.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex .
