i have renewed my tax credits and received my final award notice which mentions i have a £500 overpayment due back to them. As it cant be taken in installments from this years award, i realise that it is effectively due now.
However they have not sent me an actual bill for this amount, how long does this normallly take? Do i just wait for this to be generated and then phone to arrange a repayment plan as i cant afford to pay it all back in one.
Any advice appreciated

You normally get a notice to pay asking you to pay in full, which is issued about a month after the final award letter. You can then phone up and discuss a payment plan. .Anything I post on here is my own personal opinion, and quite likely not the view of my employer. My knowledge may not be up-to -the minute current, but I'll give you the best I can.0

The notice to pay (TC610) is normally sent around 30 days after the final award notice. When you get it, give them a ring.
