Missing parcel

Can anyone help?

My daughter returned a parcel to Missguided and after two weeks they are saying they haven't received it, she can't find the receipt given by the post office, they are not being very helpful obtaining a copy, is she covered under her credit card as that was her method of purchase?

Thanks

Misguided are saying they haven't received it and to send a tracking number, but it was their prepaid label so weren't offered recorded delivery, the post office won't give a copy as they say they don't have it. She's now in the phone to her credit card company to see what they can do. It's £200 and she's a student so can't afford to lose that money.

So what do they say when you inform them that it was returned via the prepaid label and thus no tracking?

I don't think that a CC company will pay if she can't prove anything.

if sent back under dsrs, you are not required to obtain any proof of posting etc, clearly it is still in the interest of the returner to obtain a free certificate of posting.

DSRs no longer apply, CCR replaced them in June

We thought it was a tracked item as the post office didn't offer /suggest we should use recorded delivery. They said they don't usually ask when it's prepaid.....so a bit of bad service on their part. Just picked up a claim for from said post office today.

It's not "bad service" - if you want tracking then you ask for tracking. The vast majority of people wouldn't want it (you'd have to pay for it) so I'm not surprised they don't proactively offer it.

I can't see the post office paying out anything at all if you have no proof whatsoever that you ever sent it. If they do it will be capped at something like £50 though.
