UKCPS Again..

Hi,

This post is almost identical to another which appeared yesterday, but I'd just like to make sure that my battle plan is ok.

After parking in a car park in Hull yesterday, popped to the bank first, came back, found a ticket issued on windscreen as I had left the car park. I didn't continue with my shop as I felt very peeved and so didn't get a receipt from any of the stores there.

So I think the plan should be something like:
1) Wait to be contacted by UKCPS
2)Send an appeal letter from the template in the Newbie section.
3)Wait for appeal to be declined and then appeal through POPLA, again using a template from the Newbie section.

One final question, with regards to timing is yesterday, the day of the issue classed as day one?

Hope all this makes sense.

you might also consider writing to all the retail outlets served by the car park informing that, due to the unacceptable tactics of the PPC, you will not be patronising their shop again.

Finally, this invoice almost certainly misrepresents the legal position under Contract Law, and may even contain untruths. You should therefore bring it to the attention of your local Trading Standards Officer.

You might also want to have a read of the VCS -v- Ibbotson case and start getting an understanding of what 'mitigating losses' is all about. It's a good read, with a great ending (although not for Miss Coates :)).

  • NTK notice arrived today.

I have copied and pasted the first letter from the newbies page.

Sorry if this sounds like another stupid question, but when replying to the letter, should I type my name at the end, or just use some random squiggle?

Squiggle the signature but OBVIOUSLY it needs your name and address. It's a letter after all, it has the sender's name and address, that's how letters are always set out. Must admit though, the younger generation don't even realise you have to sign letters (my DD didn't when she typed a resignation letter for her PT job, I had to get her to open the envelope & sign it then re-seal)!

  • THANKS!!!!!!

Received a letter from UKCPS today informing me that as a review of my parking charge they have decided to cancel the 'fine' as a one time gesture of goodwill.

Once again many thanks to those who have posted letters, tips and ways of not letting them win.

And we're still 3 months away from the season of goodwill. Merry Christmas one and all. :rotfl:

  • UKCPS seem to be cancelling a lot lately as soon as they see the template appeal :-)
