Hi all, a DFW newbie here!

Today I have/will:
* Used the slow cooker to make ultra cheap meals for the week ahead
* Used the washing line, not the tumble dryer
* Brought lunch to work
* Checked my online banking
* Make an extra payment to my credit card bill0 -

In other news though, the car has developed a strange tinny rattle.

Hello
Thanks for starting the thread CLF
Ally, that is some list you have there
 DNMS - long time no see. Sorry to hear about your car. Hope it doesn't cost too much. If it is any consolation, a bus ran into mine a couple of months ago, with me in it  I was sitting in a traffic jam at the time  That was an insurance job, and even though the bus company admitted liability (eventually) I bet my premium will go up next time
List for today:
Finally managed to get through and pay off my Sainsburys credit card. As soon as the payment goes through (why does it take 3 days when I can transfer money immediately from my bank account to seemingly anywhere else?) I will be closing the account.
Nothing spent apart from that (it was just over £45, how was this worth the huge fuss and aggressive phone call to a long standing customer??)
Walked to the library to take my book back. This saved me having to pay a fine, as it was due back today, saved fuel as I didn't use the car and provided free exercise. What's not to like
It was hot though!
Made up the spare bed and finished the ironing, which were actually on 2 previous lists
Put the ironing board and iron away for when I next use it, probably some time in the next millennium :rotfl:
Still to do, as it is still do bloomin hot and dry here:
Walk mutt later when cooler. Poor old thing can't take the heat
Water the garden. Seriously bored with having to do this every single day for weeks (sorry to non-gardeners / hot weather lovers
) I love sunny weather but hate seeing everything so parched
Pick tomatoes and runner beans
That will do me I think - babysitting tomorrow, so making the most of an easy day :rotfl:0 -

Found 1p at the swimming pool yesterday and 5p in Sainsbury today. Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

DawnW the long list is a result of working pretty much non-stop for nine months with hardly a moment to spare. Lots of things kind of got out of hand.
As for your payment taking three days...it doesn't.
The payment goes from your bank account to Sainsbury Bank's giant pot of everybody's incoming credit card payments within five to ten minutes. Sainsbury Bank then take three days to take your money out of their giant pot and pay your bill with it.

I normally lurk and take inspiration from you guys, but I thought I would join in today.
Line dried 2 loads of washing
Cancelled sky movies as the free offer I had is coming to an end.
Went foraging in the park and came home with just over 500g of blackberries. Yum
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -
Hi all!
Today I have -
-Cooked a big curry in the slow cooker which will last a few days (left it in a bit too long so was a bit burnt on the top but edible!)
-NSD
-checked banking and reviewed budget
-need to wrap up a parcel I have sold on ebay
-all food from stores
-charged phone at work
-busy all day at work so no temptation to spend
CB0 -
Good evening everyone, I did not get around to posting this morning due to having some bad news last night.
My list for today was:
Contact the vets regarding cat and settling the bill
Check online banking
Submit work to client and raise the invoice
Breakfast and Lunch from stores – getting a cheap treat for dinner
Work at clients office 12 – 5
Check free postcode lottery
All the planned work for today has been completed therefore I am off to rest until tomorrow. I think this evening I will spend a while playing with my new mobile before heading to bed, as there is not very much on the tv.0 -
Good evening!
Almost a NSD, got my stepmums birthday present (had already set aside the money so not sure if I can actually claim no spend!!) trying to be organised with gifts!
Ate home made butties and pretend aldI penguins, which were lovely! So not spent any money on food which is def a big thing for me!
Shadowing folk at my new work so can claim fuel costs of the travel which is exciting! Also good to get chance to see people in action and get tips. Early start shadowing tomorrow but again will be able to claim travel costs and every little helps! Used to do a 40mile round trip and pay for it all myself so this will make a big money difference, thinking about working out fuel costs and moving the rest into a car fund as the miles will of course add wear and tear!
Hope you have all had brilliant days!
Jodles :rotfl:
