This link from a Prankster blog to a substantial Daily Mail article makes very interesting reading. The DM seems to be developing a head of steam on PPCs at the moment.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Putting aside the whole adversarial bit, I would like whoever who is involved in this mess, to put them selves in the shoes of a patient who is attending one of these units. It's likely that they will be hearing the most important news of their lives. (This is the reality of the situation.)
Then to be pursued by the tactics of the ppc's that we all know so well.
It's a complete disgrace.Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -

I agree Ivor, utterly appalling, and even if I felt there was a place somewhere in society for PPCs, hospitals would be absolutely the last place on earth they should infest. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Try telling that to the BPA who, according to their propaganda, are driving up standards in their industry. You can tell how out of touch this bunch of clowns are, they have just awarded somebody from the much discredited Roxburgh a "fellowship" . This award was for being a "role model for the profession and for raising standards".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I don't mean to come across as someone who doesn't care about the core disgraceful issue.
In fact the opposite is true, as I have "been there" at extremely close quarters. Indeed in my real job I have come across this situation on more than one occasion and am glad that I am now in a position to be able to help at last.
Fair enough links cannot be put on the DM, but the way to help people is to empower. That is one of the evils of cancer as you feel so powerless. So anything you can do to help regain control over some aspects of life are always welcome. I just wish they could have told people some details of where to go to seek advice to help them regain this even if only over one small area of life.
And I am glad that parkingticketappeals were consulted as least there is some accurate information going out there then.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Superb, premium quality grist for the mill, how long will it be before the Mirror and the Sun jump on the bandwagon.
What on earth were PE thinking about when they invoiced that woman for a 13 seconds overstay, how they must be regretting their hubris. Anyone holding shares in their parent should complain to the board.
I urge everyone to get in touch with the DM journos writing this stuff, I did yesterday and received a very civil reply. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

They have been in touch with me, and with the Prankster, and some other informed sources.I urge everyone to get in touch with the DM journos writing this stuff, I did yesterday and received a very civil reply.
There will be more articles to follow - watch this space.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Great news, a Daily Mail campaign with a general election in the offing! This might have some impact on the smug complacency prevalent in the corridors of power.Je suis Charlie.0
