Help, dont know if I have done the right thing. Never had an accident in 40 years until last week. A car was half parked on the pavement half on the road and started reversing towards us as we were stationary waiting to turn onto the main road. Had hand on horn for about 3 seconds but it kept coming back and bang ! We exchanged details and called our Insurance Co when we got home. The AA they gave us two options, but said no 2 was the best option via Claim Fast. They insisted we got a hire car, the sorted the garage etc. Today we contacted by our Company saying the other driver has put in a claim saying we went into the back of him. His back lights drivers side were smashed the damage to our car is the passenger door, it wont open as he drove along the pavement I am totally confused now with Claim Fast as I have just read that they only take the claim on if there is no blame on our side.So what happens now ? As the claim has already started If we cannot prove our claim against the other driver. Do we have to pay hire charges etc Luckily CCTV is available,the owner of a nearby premises confirmed via telephone that he could see the accident on tape. Can anyone advise please Many thanks
