Can anyone help me sort this out re hyundai i110 61 plate

Hi one and all l brought this January 2012 ?new but had issues with it first it had faulty pin front passenger side which could have collapsed at anytime, when asked why no recall said they didn't have to until they knew a vehicle was faulty found this hard to believe because suspension could have collapsed and l had been on the motorway,Rac man fixed with hammer and chisel but when still not right they decided it needed a new bearing which they did but even though I have had tracking etc checked tyre still wearing on inside, why? Also black plastic trim is now grey not black looks about 10years old and been baking in the sun, with a 2 inch corrosion/rust bubble on back of roof where hatch lifts up which l have repeatedly told them about but they have done nothing about ,where do l go? It's suppose to have a 5year warranty and l didn't manufacture/build it so why are they not doing anything/taking responsibility?

My eyes are too tired to read, so I'll pop back when there are some full stops and paragraphs.

^^ This should make it easier for people to read and help you!

Who did you buy it from?
    Who is the warranty with?
What do you mean when you say 'they have done nothing'?

what have the dealer said about problems

we have an i30 that has been very little trouble but anything that has been trouble has been sorted under warranty

have you kept up with servicing including the body check
  • Got from a dealer

They say not covered by warranty, when asked why not, they say it's wear and tear but as not yet done 9,000 miles l think this is a bit rich!

We did not put car together , they made it so why do they not accept pin not fitted by them, just thankful it didn't go on motorway as could have been fatal, it's not done 9,000 miles so how can they say corrosion bubble and plastic trim losing colour and everything else is wear and tear.

This is the 1st car we have purchased new and will be the last if all they promise is empty words, which is why we asked what do we need to do and yes, we have only dealt with dealership as they say if we don't, warranty is null and void but it seems to be that anyway.

Do they ever do anything that is covered by a "warranty" or is it wishful thinking on our part.

You can take your car to any garage to have it serviced or repaired and the warranty will not be effected providing the garage you use uses genuine Hyundai parts and follows the service schedules in your handbook.

Bit about the Block Exemption Regulations here (a little bit down the page)

I'm not sure what you mean by "pin"?? From memory the suspension set up on the i10s (I assume you meant i10 not i110) are a bottom wishbone arm with bottom ball joint, the hub assembly (where the hub bearing, disc, calliper etc are), an anti-roll bar drop link and a Macpherson strut.

Generally manufactures will get away with the "wear and tear" line for suspension items regardless of miles. They'll argue that even though you've done less than 9,000miles you could have been driving down country tracks at 40mph and that's why your suspensions gone. It will depend on what your "pin" is as to whether that will apply.

As for the rust bubble, if you've been using the dealer for servicing they should have noticed it during the body work/corrosion check that is part of the service. Check the service book and if it's been stamped point out that according to the book they should checked for this and have either stamped your book without doing the work or not carried out a proper inspection and that you feel you may have to bring this to the franchise/area/regional managers attention if it's not rectified.

Finally the plastic going grey is something you'll probably just have to accept. My Corsa works van did the same, along with the paint fading from red to pink! Even if they'd replaced all the trims and re-sprayed it it would just have ended up the same again.
