Broken Cardale Garage Door Cable

The cable running down the side of my Cardale garage door has snapped leaving the door wide open. Is it possible to get a replacement cable and fit it myself? Where could I get a replacement part from?

Or, should I be getting a specialist in to do the job? How much would be a reasonable price to pay?

My garage door 'broke' while my car was inside my garage. I was looking in the boot, the garage door drooped pinning me against the boot lid unable to move anything. I couldn't raise or lower the door and simply didn't know what to do. Fortunately I had my mobile on me and got help. I'm a bit of a DIY'er but balked at the thought of fixing the door myself, it's not easy, there's hell of a spring to balance the weight. I got a 'man' in at a cost of about £75, 2 years ago.

Its not expensive if yours has bust and you cant get out of your garage !!!!

In relation to a tv remote control it is, its just a remote as far as I can see, no difference there's no controller
