I use the knee pads you wrap around your knees with velcro, as already suggested. Something with wheel just sounds too risky (and likely to get full of clay soil in my garden).Whoops there goes another year, there goes another pint of :beer:0 -
I use an old towel or fleece folded length ways ( when I can be bothered) for crawl along room. But, because of various aches and pains tend not to kneel much and instead sit on on hip/kneel to side. As I go along I get lower and lower til I am pretty much flat out.0

You can get strap-on kneepads from any good DIY store. They are intended for use when doing flooring work, but also work outdoors.
If you want something on wheels, then a mountain board may be more appropriate than a skateboard. They have bigger wheels, as they are intended for off-road use.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I just use an old piece of carpet.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Strap on knee pads for me too. I can't kneel at all without them but can manage 10 - 15 minutes at a time with the latest ones. Bosmere brand from our local garden centre. Very well padded and I find them much better than the gel ones which have a hard outer section.0

That's the sort of thing I'm visualising, only more comfortable (eg with bit of padding).
That's brought up a couple of thoughts, ie who do I know that might be able to make one for me? now wondering about those moveable bases for large plant pots?0 -
