removing wallpapers

My pc has acquired a large number of pictures in the background folder of which I cannot access to edit/delete. can anyone advise how to access this folder. My O/S is Windows 2000 pro

    Not sure, but right click a file, click properties, and if "read only" is ticked untick it and try them.

    Just a guess, sorry if it doesn't help.
