Who understands about LLU re landline?

Is there anywhere that explains about the different kind of landlines [bundled/unbundles etc.] so that I understand it without giving myself a headache? How does BT 'share' their lines with other providers? Diagrams may be necessary.
I am endeavouring to escape from TalkTalk and find a landline provider which is economic but still provides that extinct [?] ethos called customer satisfaction.
Thank you.

Suggest look up your exchange on samknows.com . Then research the CS of those that are available to you .Its all coming down the BT wires from the exchange .0

That's excellent. I knew most of it already having picked it up from various sources over the years, but never realised it was neatly summarized anywhere.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

Yes, I am thick. I have looked at Sam Knows before and my exchange WMEK is listed as non LLU yet I have TalkTalk landline and Timico broadband which according to Sam Knows are not present. So Timico are providing me with Broadband through BT Wholesale??
What difference does it make?0 -
If your exchange has no LLU services, then TT are supplying you via BTW-and you are almost certainly paying a big surcharge. TT without LLU is pointless-the only point of using them is for cheapness.
What is the actual name of your exchange-I can find no ref for one abbreviated to 'WMEK'?No free lunch, and no free laptop
