Euro Car Parks Parking Ticket - purchased a ticket for the wrong car

Hello MSE - help/advise needed please!
I'll keep it brief:
- Driving my sisters car yesterday and parked at a Euro Car Park. I purchased a parking ticket via PayByPhone.co.uk but stupidly input my car registration number instead of her's.
- Upon returning, Euro Car Parks had issued me with a ticket which was left on the windscreen.
Although a silly mistake on my behalf, I did purchase a ticket and plan on appealing but not sure what I should send as a first appeal.
Having read the 'newbies' section, my case is slightly different to the norm (hence my confusion).
Any advise would really be appreciated and people's views on whether I will be successful.
Thanks in advance.

Not really different at all. Use the standard appeal. No GPEOL is a winner (ultimately) because ECP received the payment due, therefore no loss.0

Thanks for your response.
What do you mean by "No GPEOL is a winner (ultimately) because ECP received the payment due, therefore no loss"0 -
he means ECP recieved the correct amount of money from you for parking a vehicle on the day in that space, the mistake was a VRN error by the driver but no loss was incurred by ECP
so if they say you owe them £60 to £100 as a result of this then that cannot be a genuine pre-estimate of their loss as no financial loss actually occurred
now read and follow the newbies thread and cost them £27 at popla if they are stupid enough to pursue the pcn invoice
add a point D to the appeal saying the incorrect VRN was used by the actual driver (no naming this driver) and scan a copy of the ticket that was bought and add as an attachment as evidence
use the word DRIVER, not I etc , so no giving away info you should not give away
the RK should really be appealing this unless you actually want to have them aim this at the driver ? (once the NTK arrives in 29 to 56 days time)0 -

Thankyou for this.
I'm looking to end this ASAP so would rather deal with now as opposed to waiting for the NTK.
I will be wording the 'Part D' as recommended as follows:
"D) A ticket was purchased but the incorrect VRN was used by the actual driver. I have attached this as evidence."
I will sign it off under the registered keepers name i.e. my sister, which I believe to be the correct way of doing it?
Thanks again.0 -
Send only a photocopy of ticket. These parking companies have a habit of losing things in the post.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0

I was planning on sending the appeal via the EPC website. Would you recommend sending it via post?
The receipt is an online one from the paybyphone.co.uk website which I will just panning on saving down and attaching.0 -
if its an online appeal the attachment idea is correct
just try to make sure you get a screenshot of it going in, or ideally an email back confirming an appeal has been lodged
always assume they will say they never received the appeal0 -
Reading conflicting posts on how I should sign off this letter.
Should it be signed off under my sisters full name (the registered keeper) or signed off as 'the registered keeper'?
Thanks0 -
You are strongly advised to wait for the NtK in 28 - 56 days time (or at least your sister is). In this case there are advantages in waiting:
1. Unlikely, but possible they may not issue a NtK
2. If issuing a NtK they may miss the deadline and render Keeper liability void
3. Their NtK may not be compliant (very likely) with PoFA 2012 requirements and again render Keeper liability void
4. If there is no Keeper liability they can only pursue the driver, the RK is under no obligation to divulge who the driver was, if they don't know who the driver was then .......
5. It buys you more time to get to understand all of this and be better able to successfully handle it.
You need to thoroughly read the NEWBIES sticky; the fact that you didn't know what GPEOL meant (it's littered everywhere in the sticky as the main appeal point that wins every time) suggests you do need to do more research via that medium. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
