There is actually more to it than that I took early retirement a few years ago that would have been impossible if I was renting.
I am going through that decision making process right now (whether to retire next year just before my 58th birthday), it isn't an easy decision (as you probably know). With the benefit of hindsight, would you have done anything differently?Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

His delusion is limitless it seems..... Who cares??? who cares about having a secure roof over their head when they're old, vulnerable and forced to pay ever increasing rent with v little income......
Why would anyone care about that!!!
Ever increasing rent? Didn`t you read any of my posts? 350 p.m 17 years ago, 400 p.m now, that is some increase Acorn brains, and if you do the math for if I only saved equivalent to rent every month over the years you will see why I don`t care and have plenty time to come on here and laugh at you.0 -

I might get some housing benefit but it would be limited to a 1 bed flat and the trouble is where I am the rent on almost all the the available rental property is higher than housing benefit.0 -

Who cares? I'd be taking more than a glancing view on it. In fact, I'd want to make sure I had as many assets as possible, making as much money as possible for those years.
These Islands have been populated for 2000+ years with people living in dwellings. During that time, people owning property have an distinct advantage over those that don't. You have no idea whether or not property investment will be a dirty word. If I was a gambling man, Id guess that it won't.0 -

Personally I would not I was not enjoying my job and the commute into London was getting worse. I was offered a good redundancy package and had the chance of drawing my pension early so I took it. I have obviously had to make some sacrifices but on balance I really happy I did. If there is some item I am having to go without I just think of being stuck on the m25 at 7 am and I am happy to do with out it.0 -

That makes no sense grammatically btw.
To answer, Yes, I read them and then re-read because I couldn't believe the absolute delusion in your posts.
Shall we go over this again, you moved from a 1 bed flat to an even worse HMO and your rent still increased by £50pm.
So that's a 14.3% increase in rent. Based on your own delusional figures, so I'd love to know the true figure.
P.s you've paid off over £80k of your LL's mortgage, yet you call him the muppet for taking on a mortgage which you begrudginly pay for him. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
