You said market price was what most people were paying, I said most people borrow to "own" property.

I'm not sure where buying comes into it I was referring to your luck in finding cheap rent someone made a inane post I replied and you commented on my reply. No mention of buying.

You do realise there is a market price for rent.

Crashy, You are literally getting your @rss handed to you here and you think you are winning the debate? "Ohh look at me, Im winning the debate on why renting for 17 years makes me so far further ahead in life".

It doesn't. As everyone has pointed out you are financially in a far, far worse position than if you bought 17 years ago. No one cares about MEW, Ponzi schemes, banksters or any other junk you go on about. This forum is called "Money saving Expert". If you run these words together you get what this forum is for.

Its not called "Lose Money Hand Over Fist For Decades On End Expert". If it were you be the head moderator.

On the link to HPC that Hamish posted DWS / Crashy is lying to his fellow cultists that they Just got someone telling me that sold prices in the street won`t affect his value at all

HAHAHAHAHAHA I don't know if they actually believe what they type. But I'm starting to fear for my safety :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Did you ever answer that question? If the street bought years ago, and they have died/gone into care/ moved to Scotland/whatever, does their price cut to sell affect the muppet (you?) who bought at peak price?

I’m a heck of a catch, cos, er well look at it; I live in Slough, in a lovely house, with my parents. I have my own room, which I’ve had since yep.. since I was born. That’s seen a lot of action I tell you. Mainly dusting. I went to university for a year as well, before I dropped out, so I’m a quitter.

So, er, form an orderly queue ladies. “

I guess you are 3 then as most people move every 3 years.

I think I did answer.... but it looks like you've changed your question for the 3rd time...... It's embarrassing now.

That's what you typed word for word..... So you didn't ask me a question....

Now you're asking a question which is quite different to what you asserted as fact before....

Before you stated If someone in your street sells for less than you paid, and the houses are similar, that is the new value of your house, you have no control

I assume that you realize this is absolutely false and hence why you have changed to has an effect on value.

    Quite a difference!!!

To answer ......The value of a house is what someone is willing to pay for it..... Of course a shockingly low price on the same street would cause concerns. But would in no way dictate the price of all similar houses on that street.
