Confusing luck with intelligence.
That reminds me of something Gary Player (there is dispute over the ownership of this quote) once said, the more I practice the luckier I get.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Good on you, you won't regret it. It's a fantastic feeling. Sacrifice holidays, sacrifice a new (second hand :rotfl:) car, sacrifice nights out. At the end you are the winner.
First year was buying all furniture for the house. Year later I had an expensive wedding, recently purchased a new car and booked Mexico for May next year.... This is quite manageable on a joint income of around £50k. Which is quite an average dual income....
Live on the prom in a decent area in the NW, I'd have to be seriously mental not to buy property with the market as it is.
With the mortgage paid off (and after bills ) we should have around 1.8k to 2k a month to live off. Looking forward to it!!!0 -

Hey, you have to live but Im saying every penny paid is one less you have to do to reach your goal. You seem smart so Im sure you will smoke it soon enough.0 -

Because you can see property that has a let agreed.0 -

I hope so, already have a good work life balance, but to have no housing costs would be even better!
I do pity renters and I understand why they are seething over the housing issue. But surely homeowners can't be the villain for simply making an obviously correct decision.0 -

Now stop avoiding my "actual question"
If I sell my house for 200k and buy another house for 100k does that indicate that houses are decreasing in value?
I asked you if you think the value of your house is affected by sale prices for similar houses in the area. It is a very simple question, do you believe the value is affected, yes or no.
Of course buying two very different houses at two different prices doesn`t mean houses are decreasing in value, but I explained in another post why my rent has not gone anywhere in 17 years. This is just a fact, I may have been lucky, found landlords that knew how to get long term tenants, whatever, but the figures stand, no amount of your nonsense posting changes that.0 -

Ok, I`ll humour you. I bet muppets piling into BTL in Edinburgh in 1997 putting their flats on the market at 350 p.m didn`t think that 17 years later they would be putting their flats on the market at....Drum Roll....425 p.m! Big wow.0 -

Yet you have still spent almost 3x the mortgage interest you would have paid if you had bought the flat you linked to.0
