i expect a flood of CGT tax dodging properties on the market before april. i think this is when supply will peak.
might look into buying in cyprus, though. property is VERY cheap there at the mo and is expected to fall further due to some kind of eviction law changes related to the bail out
I assume that you are referring to the forthcoming CGT rule change (it might not be retrospective) for ex-pats, do you really think that it will affect many people in the area that you want to buy in?

i think tennant, possibly his last episode as the doctor
the master had his hair dyed blond and had a stupid super hero type lightening beam weapon which he deployed from the palm of his hands
was very cheap0 -

Somehow I missed that one, from what you said it sounds like I didn't miss that much.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

i think it will affect the market generally.
i'm of the opinion that now prime london is falling the people who couldn't quite afford those properties will be priced in, causing prices in the next tier to adjust and so on
the CGT thing will genrally increase supply, which has been increasing for the last 8 months or so.
i expect prices to fall but even if they don't there will be more choice by early 2015
do you think these predictions are erroneous?0 -

Why? On April 6th 2015 these properties will have a CGT liability of £0
CGT doesn't seem to have put off BTL so can't see why this particular group would be more averse to paying it anyway.
..and it'll affect how many properties in the 'stow?0 -

I don't see London falling, but I do see it stagnating for a while, because it surged so much (by stagnating I mean dipping and rising by small amounts, not necessarily completely flat). You were unlucky with Tottenham Hale, I know because we were looking there at the same time, and were shocked by how much they surged in a very short time. My wife was keener to buy than me, as I was half thinking that we had enough in property and should diversify. But the after increase, IMO it meant the value had gone for an investor, you as an owner occupier face a much more difficult decision.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

We were only at the very early stage of exploring the possibility, but we'd only have been there 6 months a year, the rest of the time we would be in Spain and/or the Algarve during the winter. But the chancellor killed off that possibility anyway, we'd have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for that pesky chancellor.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0
