About switching off and retiring, our plan is to spend the winter away in either Spain or the Algarve, and to do that my wife also needs to retire. She has finally started talking about retiring next December, in the meantime I am (almost) happy to carry on working.

I think you enjoy it really.
Better than wine making or stamp collecting.
Agree with stamp collecting, but wine making sounds interesting, more about the challenge of making a delicious wine, than saving money. But I have just about succeeded in getting under 21 units a week, so the last thing I need is an easily accessible vat of wine in the house or garage. It is bad enough when Sainsburys give 25% off for buying 6 or more bottles, I have learnt that I haven't got the will power to stock up and only drink 2 bottles a week, that just doesn't happen. I quickly resort back to a bottle a night which isn't good for long term health.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
You do have a very strong anti lending bias - you don't like people taking a leveraged position full stop.

stop putting what you think are my thoughts into your posts until you can understand plain English and can respond to the point being made.

Until mortgage lending dramatically falls you're going to be making these assertions for the rest of your life whatever the truth of the matter.
Which of those thoughts did I get wrong?
You could clarify what evidence you have for only lip service being given to MMR. Just what controls and limits do you think should be put on mortgage lending?0 -

Don't mess with his head, you know he doesn't like facts or reasoned argument.
Crashy's debating style is similar to that of a toddler, he sticks his fingers in his ears and screams. "sheeple, liar loans, HPI junkies" anything that contradicts the majority view of HPC is clearly incorrect or inaccurate.0 -

You dont make a point, but put ideas that I have a particular bias I dont have.
Now, tell me who has been sanctioned by the regulators for lax lending this month...you provide the evidence you seek.
I was asking for evidence of MMR control...you say it is clear there is control..it is you that needs to provide evidence.0 -
