zapper.co.uk - Gone Out of Business?

Had some old textbooks to books to sell and whereas the usual sites such as Fatbrain, Ziffit and Amazon wouldn't give me anything for them, managed to get them accepted at zapper.co.uk last week for roughly a tenner. Have used this site in the past before to sell books, mostly stuff that the other sites wouldn't sell. We are talking here about books which are not really worth flogging on eBay or Amazon because of the high postage costs and the fact that everyone and their wife has one listed for 99p. So no real loss.


Went into the site this morning to check if they had received the parcel which I had left at a Collectplus garage last week when stopped for Petrol. I'd checked on the Collectplus site and they claimed they'd delivered it on Thursday but parcel was still showing as "waiting" on the zapper site on Friday morning which was odd.


Today I can't even get into zapper.co.uk. I get told that page "cannot be displayed". Either the site is down for maintenance or they have gone belly up. Wondered if someone else could check that it wasn't just my dodgy PC.


Obviously my trade was only worth a tenner and the stuff would have gone to a charity shop if no-one else had taken it, but in the best traditions of moneysaving I will continue to keep a close eye. Also wanted to warn anyone else thinking of scanning books to maybe give this site a miss for a few days if it comes back up just in case. Also wanted to warn anyone with outstanding trades they hadn't heard about that there might be something slightly amiss here.


Maybe nothing but these sites do come and go and once they've got your property there isn't much really that you can do if they disappear without trace.
