Best pretend pet?

I need to buy a pretend pet for a 4 year old. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Can't vouch for the online seller as we got them from a temporary stand in our local shopping centre 3 or 4 years ago, but these are lovely and some of the breeds look very realistic.

Whether the little motor that makes the them "breathe" works for very long, is pot luck but they're still a lovely toy even if they're inert within a few weeks! They're also sold in various places online and in independent shops under the alternative name of "Precious Petzzz"

Furbies have made a big comeback and most of my friends kids have/want one. They are more interactive than some of the other "pets" you can get.

The Furby Boom toys are fun (both my kids have one) but they're quite expensive for what you get. There are tablet apps that they can interact with but it's a bit hit-and-miss whether this actually works.

Robofish? They were all the rage not long ago...

Another vote for robofish here. They are really lifelike. My youngest loves them and has a couple in a little fish bowl by his bed. Helps him to settle off to sleep calmly at night.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

After talking to her mum, from a choice of Caca Max, Lucy the dog and Barbie my fab pets Lacey, we went for the latter. Thanks for all your sensible advice and humorous comments

I bought Zhu Zhu Pets Hamsters for my grandsons when they were all the rage. I am not sure if you can still get them. The boys loved them.
