DVLA loses money on PPC's

Not a good couple of days for the PPC racket in the media.

If they lose money on the £2.50 they charge the PPC's, how much do they lose for the 5p(ish) they charge councils?
Solution to the ppc one is raise the charge to £10.

    One poster's reply:

"Disclosure of personal information to private companies by a government run agency is a disgrace.
There are parking companies owned and run by criminal gangs and they have access to this material.

This is actually "old" news and has been discussed here before. The alleged shortfall is yet another example of Swansea's imaginative accounting schemes.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

This story has appeared before, and is just an instance of creative accounting by the DVLA.

If they can supply RK data to Councils for a few pence, they are certainly making money from charging £2.50 a pop to the PPCs.

That's why they persist in denying that they are doing anything wrong, despite the reams of evidence presented to them that there is no 'reasonable cause' to release the data. Some high level people at the DVLA have their entire careers dependent on this income stream.

The other issue is that they have been cosying up to the BPA for so long, that habitual lying has rubbed off on the DVLA as well.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

My one experience of the intransigence and incompetence of the DVLA is when they refused to refund some £14.00 to me when I wrote off my car in Spain, I raised hell, and took it to the very top, I was prepared to make a formal complaint to the Ombudsman involving my MP.

Eventually they paid out, but it must have cost them £100s of pounds trying not to. You can read the whole story here.

As per previous posters, the DVLA are making it up.

They don't even keep information on paper requests, so cannot possibly apportion costs accurately.

100+ people involved in providing information? What do they do? Dust the computers?

Robert Toft, provider of this useless information, is having a laugh at the taxpayer's expense, as usual.

Wrong info it might well be but could build up a momentum to force some change on ppc's. All to the good, I hope.

It ought to have been possible to bolt the KADOE system on for a few tens-of-thousands, but since this is a government agency they probably blew millions on it, especially if they got those p|sstakers at EDS to do it.

That's actually Robert Toft, or Kevin Watts.

Both of these gentlemen report to Hugh Evans.

All three of them are in denial.
