PM ivorpecheque on here, he has loads. You could also search on his name and look at his threads; he has posted a number of Fistral photos in them.

No worries Img, have hunted high and low for the winter sign, but can't find it, sorry about that. If you look on Fistral Beach FB page, they do actually advertise the fact that it's free parking for an hour. (or was)

PE are "cagey" about when the charges change. In our case, the "Parking Event," (or, as it turned out, the "Non Parking Event"), which occured, (or actually, didn't occur) was last May. In PE's bumph was some reference about their files changing about the time of the non event, so something smelt immediately fishy.

One point for our defence was that there was some debate as to when "The Summer Tariff" began, my argument was that PE's definition of "Summer" was quite different from the view of the Met Office, but as the Judge kindly pointed out, the Met Office, are often wrong. (He ruled against us on this point.)

I'm wondering if something is not quite right here ?

The Judge ruled against PE on other grounds, and was "mindful that even if we had parked, £179 does not represent a genuine pre-estimate of loss."

Go for POPLA with the advice on here, throw in the signage stuff as an extra :-)

  • PS, Fistral got battered by the storms this year, it looks like a sh*thole,- there's temporary fences all over the place, the underlying geology has been exposed, so the beach is often "red flagged," and the bar staff seem to have lost the concept of "customer care."

Oh, and by the way, the car park is managed by Parking Eye.

    ANPR cameras are clearly storm-proof!
