Hi everyone, I have a question about my job seekers allowance. I've just started getting jsa this month and I have to go there every week and I thought it was supposed to be every two weeks to attend the job centre? They give me dates to attend every Friday for work search interviews and signing on. Does anyone know why I'm having to attend the job centre every week instead of every two weeks and I've only just started getting jsa? Thank you x

I have to go every week if it's any help to you, I am at the end of my 26 week claim and have been made to go weekly for about 4 weeks. I have no idea why I have to do this and the advisor could give me no reason.

There was a thread here last week started by someone who was being made to go to the JC and sign-on everyday.
    Did you read that ?

Are you both under 25? I thought someone said that weekly signings was now going to be the norm for this age group. Happy 2 b corrected.

In extreme cases they are trialing people actually having to attend the jobcentre 8 hours a day. ( I don't know the criteria)

I'm well over the age of 25.

I've been going every week. One week to sign which is 5 mins and the next week with my job coach to track how I'm doing they also look at uj.mine has been helpful so far. I think it's aimed at the 24 and under. I go to the top floor too and it's quieter. But I don't have set times like I did when I was signing on a few years ago. Few year ago I would just sign every two weeks.
