If she hadn't switched it on, she may have been in a better position.
She could have seen the keyboard and trackpad by just looking and not starting it up.
The idea is that you can view the laptop like you can in a shop. In a shop you can't put in your details etc etc. They won't let you start up a laptop that you're going to buy, and will sell ex display at a lower price and so will reduce your refund to recoup that discount.
The best thing to do is to get in touch with the retailer, as they may be more generous than we have suggested as the new laws haven't yet been tested so retailers *may* want to cover their backs.0 -
