Planning travel to Russia?

I have got a trip to Russia booked for November this year - it is a package to Moscow for 3 days and then another 3 days to St Petersburg.
I didn't foresee any problems when I booked but the situation appears to be escalating rapidly now.
We travel in November and were going to go to the visa office in London to get the visas sorted out in august - these are £80 for each of us - and obviously a lot of money to lose if the trip does not go ahead.
At what point do a travel company cancel a package trip - when there are foreign office travel advisory warnings against travel?
Any thoughts would be appreciated - I didn't anticipate these problems booking a trip like this in advance:cool:

If the fco advise no travel then you should get a refund of the holiday but probably not the visa fees.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Thank you
I think I'll hold off applying until September then0 -
Unfortunatley FCO advice can change at the last moment, or not at all. FCO seems to work on the issues of safety combined with politics and there is certainly a lot of politics at the moment in relation to Russia0

I just been to St Petersburg, though I applied for visa via Real Russia as I wasn't staying in a hotel so had no sponsor and they only took less than a week so you have lots of time yet. Your have a fab time!0
