MET Parking Services (McDonalds)

Hi All,
Just thought I would post, as I received an invoice (for want of a better word), in my mail on Thursday stating that I was to pay a £50 charge on or before 30/07/14, otherwise the charge would increase to £100 for parking in a McDonalds at a certain Airport and overstaying by 14 minutes.
Well, thanks to the great advice of the people of this forum, I decided to give the store manager a call and query him on it, (Not before making up the fact I had called earlier and no-one had called back to add a sense of further frustration to the matter
). Within about 10 minutes on the phone, the store manager was asking for my registration number in order to cancel the parking charge.
So for everyone else on here who has received similar letters through the post, don't fret, just give the store a call and hopefully if you have a nice chap on the end of the phone, he will do the same for you as he did for me.
Luckily I didn't have to go down the route of sending off various appeals, all thanks to the advise on this forum.
Thanks again

Great story and well done.
What's he cooking you for tea?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi zps93
You post really helped me. I called the same McDonald near Heathrow and the trainee manager also cancelled my ticket after a day via email. I trust now McDonald realise what parking firm they have wrongly contracted into and is more willing to cancel the ticket.
Nevertheless, your experience helped and I am grateful having spared from all the appeal hassle.
There I am
