DLA for children-reconsideration timescales

Hi everyone, I asked for a reconsideration for my sons DLA and was given a timescale of 11 weeks. I called after 12 weeks and was told it hadn't been looked at. No other timescales given. It's now 14 weeks. How long do you reckon I should wait before contacting MP?

  • no more than another 2 weeks if it were me

I think maybe you should just not contact your MP at all. Don't you think they have enough to deal with? DLA are very very busy and they will deal with your claim as soon as they can. Often delays are due to not receiving GP/school reports.
Just keep chasing DLA and as soon as they have a decision they'll let you know
