Just got a new Dell Laptop with Vista, and starting to copy over files from my ext HD to the laptop. Went into Computer opened two windows, and selected a file and did my usual Control C to copy and nothing!. The Copy and Paste function works via the mouse, but I prefer a keyboard, does anyone know of a quick fix, or is it me!

Thanks

I run Vista and control and C and control and V works fine. What files are you trying to copy over?Don't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best
Just because it's free don't mean it's good

I have Vista and no problems with Ctrl V or Ctrl C...
Is it a dodgy Ctrl button? Do other Ctrl "other key" functions work?
Edit: Check the C and V buttons work too - the laptop I bought before this one had keys that didn't work... It went back fairly sharpish!April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
Correct keyboard and language chosen in your regional settings?0

Well the control v+c work in Word.
I was trying to copy folders from my usb ext hd to the new pc. I have selected "Computer" from the start screen and opened two windows, one where from and the other where to, so I could selected and copy then move across and past. I have copied them but only by using the mouse options:mad:
As a keyboard person, I find the mouse slower, especially laptop mice.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
