Duty Free question

Although we travel a reasonable amount we don't usually buy any duty free items. I've seen a perfume I'd quite like but it's quite expensive, so I thought I may buy a bottle when I fly next week.
So can anyone tell me if it makes any difference to the price buying at Gatwick or Malaga airport.
TIA

Given the exchange rate for the euro at the moment, Gatwick might be cheaper especially if you're paying by credit card as there will be the exchange rate calculations etc0

Might be worth checking the price in Superdrug or Savers. I've often found the high street price just as cheap, if not cheaper, than Duty Free at Gatwick.0

you are not entitled to purchase duty free items when travelling within the European union0

If I'm understanding this right it could still be cheaper?

you can purchase fragrances at what they call tax free equivalent prices
now is that Tax Free or tax free equivalent prices whatever that means, looks confusing to me
as for is it cheaper here or in Spain you need somebody that has made the comparison recently on the product that you are looking for0 -
Maybe stating the obvious but if you buy on your way out you'll probably have to put it in your checked luggage on the way back (assuming it's over 100ml) so just worth considering in case that changes things for you at all.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Or you can buy on the way out and collect it on your return

There is only a small number of large bottles of spirits and cigarettes/tobacco that you cannot buy at duty free prices when travelling within the EU. 70cl alcohol, perfume, jewelry etc can all be bought at the same price no matter where you are travelling, even if within the UK.
What others have said however is true, that just because its "duty free" doesnt necessarily mean its cheaper so do your homework and dont get caught up in the moment. Some airport's duty free publish their prices on their website and so you may be able to compare easily before going.0 -
I've never seen fragrances that were cheaper in "Duty Free" than on the High Street or online.0
