Lampshade for a Batten Lamp Fitting

Hi all, I have two lights in my kitchen that I cannot find a shade to fit. I have tried up lighters and your usual shades. The fitting is similar to this :

I am probably doing it wrong, so any advice greatly appreciated. I am unscrewing the bulb, then putting the ring part of the shade through the bulb and trying to push it up and twist but it will not twist on. I've put up without for 4 years (newbuild) but trying to sell my house, so I want it to look good.
Thank you.

Remove lamp (that's the "bulb), unscrew shroud, put lampshade in place, put shroud back, reinsert lamp ("bulb").
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

Thanks. I did try that on one of them but it seemed to just twist round and round and not come off. I will try the other one tomorrow.

Make one by cutting out a circle of fabric ... then cut out a small circle in the middle that matches the shroud circumference. Spray with fabric starch to make it firm......

    Glue it to the shroud.

Job bodged..... and you're good to go.

    :)
  • Well, I tried again and one will unscrew but the other one won't. I think it must be cross threaded or perhaps an inferior one. So annoying as I could have had matching shades.
