Lloyds PPI Problem - Closed Case

  • Just an update.

As I mentioned above the case was 'escalated' and nothing much has happened despite me calling. That was two weeks ago now.

I phoned them today for an update and they said the team had responded to the escalation and will re-review the case.
I asked what that actually meant as i thought they were already reviewing it. The lady was extremely nice and explained in her experience that when a case like mine is reviewed its generally a sign the case will be finalised and completed very quickly.
She did say that cases that are refused are done so at this stage, but mine has progressed further, which she said is a positive sign but also said I cant tell you anything as final decision is yet to be made but it is a positive step forward.

    Fingers crossed.

  • Has anyone else had a similar discussion with Lloyds?

Lloyds did something similar to us, we went with Brunel Franklin, no win no fee, if you don't mind paying a percentage I can recommend them, they have sorted all of ours in 10 weeks, we had 7 policies we had forgotten about we are now 12k better off. :T:T:T:beer:

It's worth noting for any other readers the claims company did nothing that anyone couldn't have done themselves and thus kept all the refund

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

But you paid the Claims Company about £7K:eek: so you could have been a whole lot better off if you'd simply complained direct to the Bank.

On the other thread you wax lyrically about the service you received from the Claims Company, but one day soon you'll wake up and realise they actually robbed you of almost a third of your redress.:(

All they did was put a stamp on the envelope containing your complaint.
  • Hi guys, just another update to keep those interested in how the Lloyds PPI process is as most of the threads are lacking in detail.

I got a phonecall yesterday from their english speaking call centre from a case manager, he said he'd be dealing with my complaint himself and went through the whole form i'd filled in asking specific questions about the point of sale, and why I felt the product had been mis-sold.

He asked me if I could provide some further information about the employers policy I had and would call back today which he did.
I gave the extra info and he made a lot of apologies about the way I was treated by the bank and that it has taken so long to resolve the complaint.

He said if I dont hear from him again to expect to receive a letter with a decision on it within a few weeks.

    Fingers crossed folks.
