Closing price of Royal Mail on Friday 441p, less than they opened on 1st day of trading.

Now they're ex-divi, I'm bailing on Monday along with the smart money -

Was in Germany the week before last. While people own mobiles. There's nothing like the same visibility in the streets or restaurants etc. While the use of landlines at home is very much alive. Not everyone gets sucked in by the marketing of products that one has to own.

I was in Germany last week too and noticed the same. Be interested to see if they are just behind the times or will continue to shun some technology in future.

Didn't RMG also report a fall in parcels revenue? That was supposed to be their 'growth' area.
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

A little more polite and considerate of others perhaps?

Also much more willing to save than us. Perhaps resisting the temptation to splurge everything on credit is part of the reason they are so much better off generally?

The other flaw in RMG's business is that they are compelled by universal delivery to deliver at a set price to isolated areas which essentially means those routes operate at a loss. Seems unfair that now they are essentially a private organisation operating in the open market they are compelled to operate in such a fashion when other providers such as TNT and UKmail don't?
