Ford privilege tax issues

Hello,
I have the chance through my brother in law to buy a brand new ford through the privilege scheme and wondered if anyone else has used this and is it worth the discount.

In particular, did anybody have to pay personal tax on the discount as the voucher comes from the employer (e.g. benefit in kind tax)? Who do you close the deal with, the dealer or with Ford directly?

Does anybody have a terms&conditions guide which he can share?

You get a code from your brother in law and give it to the dealer - you don't get that much off these days £250 of a KA and around £1800 of a 15K Fiesta, so shop around first before you commit.

If the employer provides the benefit then yes BIK will be applicable, I believe it's form P11D that will be submitted at year end.

If your BIL is giving you the code - can it be considered a personal gift ?

Many thanks for the reply, its interesting indeed. So do you say, it matters who orders the car: me or my BIL (as in his case, he the benefit comes from the employer)?!

Does anybody have some experience on that?
