Once the 50% discount has been offered and accepted it cannot be recanted, that is a contractual agreement.

I'd say you have grounds for cancellation on the grounds of breach of contract.

Also, their T&C's don't state that monthly allowances cannot be rolled over so you could claim that each month your son hasn't used his allowance should go towards the bill to reduce it further
  • Hi folks

Thanks for all your advice. I have just been talking to Lee from Vodafone who has agreed that the discount offered should be honoured. He has now sorted my account out to show the discount in full.

This is such a relief as I had an email a short time before that saying I wasn't going to be allowed it!

    Thanks LEE

Whilst Lee is probably the only helpful person within Vodafone's horrendous customer service team I would still get it in writing that the discount is going to be honoured. Then if it gets recanted again you have written proof that you should be getting it
  • I think that was very good of Vodafone - kudos to them. I would bear in mind that it is likely the member of staff that mistakenly offered you such a massive discount has been disciplined or terminated. They have just cost the company £350!

If I were dealing with your issue I would never have offered you any discount what-so-ever. In my mind, it is like ordering a massive amount in a restaurant and upon getting the bill saying that you are unhappy with the price, or you ordered too much by mistake.

I think that you need to realise how lucky you are here. Your son may have used the phone, but it is you who has given him an un-monitored phone.
