    Evening all,
    Today's report:
*Successful city centre trip. Found a book I'd been looking for in charity shop (v good condition) for £2. Treated selves to coffee & small cakeypoo, but took packed lunch to ensure this treat was the limit of what we spent on eating out. Used our 'Personal Spends', so did not touch bank account.
*Mr f found 2 lovely shirts in the sale - £20 the pair. Used Clothes Piggy cash, so no effect on bank account.
*Resisting temptation: 1)Avoided Monsoon sale. Started looking, then decided it is so far into summer now, it makes more sense to wait till Autumn when I actually need something. 2)Did not buy cat fishing rod style toy. £3-50 for something I can make myself from an existing cat toy & stuff I have in the shed. 3)Tried on little leather jacket.....ohhhh, it was nice, but in all honesty it wasn't really up to the job of taking on the 'foxglove boobs', so reluctantly, it was surrendered back to the hanger. Money saved!!
*Used Amazon vouchers from surveys to order 2 books for the present box.
*Checked due date for paying holiday cottage balance (Sept). Discovered already have sufficient cash in Holiday Piggy to pay it now. Made joint decision to put Aug - Dec Holiday Piggy money into the bathroom fund, as next year will just be 2 or 3 economical camping trips.
*Mr f booked car in for 2 new tyres - £104 instead of the c.£150 I was expecting. The saving will be paid into bathroom fund.
*Roast dinner tonight is the pork slices I froze in gravy last time I did 'rubber pork' - really worth doing to get a 'free' quick Sunday dinner.
*Watered veggie garden & picked runner beans.
*Cast on last sleeve for the jumper I'm knitting for the present box.
    Enjoy your sunny evening,
    F x
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Ello ello,

This past few days we have:
    * Bought a slow + pressure cooker in preparation for when we are both working full time. Last time that happened, our takeaway consumption rocketed!
    * Pressure cooked a full beef & stew in 25 minutes! Made two extra servings, one for OH's dinner and one for the freezer. Used up some old veg & cream
    * Stewed the remaining rhubarb our neighbour brought us. Made enough for one portion to go in the freezer. Next time I won't pre-stew it, ah well
    * Bought some things to make a bird table and an outdoor pen for our guinea pigs. These projects will use up old wood from our cellar
    * Had a spontaneous BBQ, instead of buying lunch from a burger van.
    * Bought some tupperware, will aid in bringing my lunch to work rather than buying it out all the time; and preserving food for longer in fridge & freezer
    * My OH spotted a bargain laptop and has put it up on gumtree now in hopes of reselling it for a profit
    * Dropped off two bags of clothes for the charity shop. Bought two gorgeous, modest skirts to replace the numerous old, :eek:inducing skirts I gave away
    * Learnt how Universal Credit will be affecting WTC and rang my mum to check up on her and inform her on this
    * Cleaned out the cellar. We rent out house but it was still such a fulfilling exercise. Now our bikes have plenty of storage room, and there is room for my OH to set up his woodwork workshop.

Still some things to do, though they may well wait till Monday:
    * Check to see if recorded delivery letter was received
    * Start court proceedings against old landlord if necessary :/
    * Contact now for the seventh time the police regarding the burglar they caught who has my purse!
    * Check last couple of mobile phone bills, phone up and get wrong internet charges refunded

I'm busy trying to build up my emergency fund, and have been successful this weekend in selling my Most Haunted DVD collection for £40, which means I have £40 more than I anticipated! Also boxed up all my old CD's and flogged them to MusicMagpie, valued at £60 in total. Every little helps!

Going to try and flog more of my DVD's in the coming weeks. I have a huge collection of them and never watch any of them so figured I could do some good in re-homing them for some extra cash! I'm happier selling these privately than Music-Magpie-ing them as I'll get more for them from colleagues and friends.
    Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!
